"We Were A Bit Lucky" - Guardiola Reflects On Bayern Game As City Book Third Consecutive Semi-final UCL Ticket

Manchester City progressed to their third successive UEFA Champions League semi-final after a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena. The reigning English champions secured passage with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.

Reflecting on the contest in Germany, City manager Pep Guardiola, while speaking to BT Sports, had this to say after the match:

"For three consecutive years we are in the semifinals of the Champions League against a truly incredible team. We really suffered only once in the first half with Upamecano, who interrupted all the passing lines and on the left we suffered a lot with Coman and the others. We had a bit of luck because they had a few chances before the penalty we missed, but that's always the case in this competition."

He further added: "We gained momentum and the second half was much better."

When asked on Erling Halaands penalty miss and goal: "The finishing from Erling was really good and he's so young, so at the end everyone here feels the pressure, but the result was amazing at Manchester (Etihad) we didn't have anything to win or lose today and we're are a team that gets better every year, but the experience this competition gives, the players feels it a lot."

On the pitch: "The pitch was so difficult to play It was slippery even for them as well"

On the VAR decision to award Bayern a penalty: "Well, nobody complained, nobody said anything"
