"Thanks To God, They Have Dropped Him And Licha Is Playing" - Former Manchester United Defender Slams Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire has been subject of criticism following his performances for Manchester United in recent years.

Appointed as club captain seasons ago, the former Leicester City defender has struggled to gain plaudits from people affiliated with the club, including fans and club legends.

The most recent person who has come out to criticize the Englishman, is former Manchester United defender, Marcus Rojo.

The Argentine spent six seasons at United, including winning the UEFA Europa League, in what was a good but injury-plagued career in Manchester.

Speaking to TyC Sports about Maguire, Rojo voiced how frustrated he was in 2019 with the then manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, after he continuously put his faith in his fellow defender, ahead of him.

"That year, I was doing really well in England. I was playing in the Europa League," he told TyC Sports.

"I was really angry with the coach [Solskjær], Maguire was playing. Now thanks to God, they dropped him and Licha [Lisandro Martinez] is playing."

Although, Martinez's 2022-23 season has come to an abrupt end due to injury, the Argentine has put in dodged performances for the Red Devils, showing why Erik ten Hag was adamant to have him in the heart of his defence line.
